Love It or Leave It: Cropped Jackets

cropped jacket: zara

Loving the cropped jacket...a classic from the 80's!  It's great for Spring when it's a bit cooler in the evenings.  Lovely layering piece and easy to just throw on and go.  Pair a leather cropped moto jacket with a floral midi or maxi dress to give it some edge or pair a denim cropped jacket (here and here) with ankle sweatpants and oversized tee.   Any way you throw it on, you will be on trend and classic chic.

Love it or Leave it: Bermudas

Paul & Joe Spring 2013
Nanette Lepore Spring 2013

Bermuda shorts in my mind were always those vacation shorts that your grandma wore with big floral prints on them.  Well, that has changed!   For Spring,  the bermuda short is on trend and has taken on a whole new vibe.  I think I'm feeling it!  Chic them up by wearing with a silk button-down blouse, a boyfriend blazer paired with an open-toe ankle boot, a chunky wedge, or a laced-up gladiator sandal. You can't go wrong with that or just pair with a soft cozy tee for a more laid back look.  Just get some for Spring!

Blooming Prints...

Floral prints are a must for this Summer...the bigger the better!  Sometimes floral prints can be a bit matronly, but if you stick to an updated silhouette you will be less matron and more chic.  Mix prints by pairing a floral skirt or pant with a striped top like this or keep it safe with a solid.  I'm looking for the perfect pair! My mom has some wide leg pants from the late 80s early 90s that I've got to get my hands on.  I did just get these on sale...loving them!

Happy first day of May!

KNIT WIT...

Knitted & Knotted, Knotted & Knitted... for Spring/Summer, it's all about this open knit sweater. Great for those Spring days and cool Summer nights, you can throw on over a maxi or midi dress or pair with a tank and jeans, and be ready from day to night.  They definitely transition great into Fall/Winter with some layering.  Options are endless, you will make great use of these knits.  Just make sure you don't snag yourself and fold instead of hang preferably in a nice sweater bag or a good ol' extra-large Ziploc bag...works every time!

Here are a lot of my favorites...
