Love It or Leave It: The Bomber

Tamu McPherson-Paris Fashion Week AW 2013

So, this bomber jacket trend that's moving right into Fall is growing on me a bit.  I've never been a bomber jacket girl, but that might change for the upcoming season. . . lots of cuties out there!   The Bomber jacket is easy to throw on, keep warm, and go.  Especially living in L.A.,  the bomber works year-round, you really don't need a heavy coat here.  Perfect Fall transition piece.  The fabulous Tamu McPherson, in the photo above paired her bomber with another trend for Fall...Plaid!  Talking about that over on Blah Blah Birds this week.  Tune in...

Let's shop. . .

Curves & Prints

Curves and Prints are a lovely thing! Wearing prints camouflages problem areas and are really fun to wear.  In the photo, I'm wearing a printed jumpsuit by Anthropologie (no longer available), which I love and it's great for my curves.  It pulls up, no annoying zippers or buttons.   A lot of the time it's hard to find quality and cute pieces to fit just right, but I think I found some cuties that my curvy reader will love.  Here are some of my go-to online shops. . .

More Katie this week!  I couldn't resist when I saw her in this cutie cute cute cropped jacket.  The whole look is fantastic!!!  :) Usually I'm not a fan of cropped jackets especially on me, but I love it styled with an oversized blouse.  Very chic!  Katie is wearing this lovely cropped jacket.  Quite pricey, but I've got some options for you.

Instant Vintage...

Another oldie but goodie showing up this week!  While on our trip to San Francisco, I was determined to go to at least one vintage shop.   Vintage shops are a must go in San Fran.  They are at the top of my list as far as cities with good vintage shopping.  This time I went to Painted Bird.  There's also one in L.A., but for some odd reason I've never gone.   That's all about to change!  I've been telling myself to get back into vintage shopping.  You find so many gems in the midst of all those full racks.

Painted Bird was small, but packed with goodies and a very charming place to shop.   Forgot to take more photos of the store, but got caught up looking through the racks.  The store is stocked with clothing for women and men, handbags, jewelry, and shoes for women.   All in all, this store has definitely become one of my favs.

Not the best photo, the sun got in my way.

My Finds..

100% Silk Floral Blouse- $17
Belt: Anthropologie
Necklace: Isabel Marant

100% Silk Brown Blouse- $14

Butter Leather Double Breasted Jacket-$27 (ding ding ding...and it's real)
I'm going to change the buttons to spice it up!

I love these lightweight silk blouses.  So easy to throw on over a cami and pair with skirts and jeans.  Leather, Florals, and the Button-down Blouse are major for Fall.  Don't want to spend full price, vintage shops are the best way to go.  Get ready for Fall vintage style!

Instant Vintage is what I love!
Do you have any fav vintage shops you want to share?

Blooming Prints...

printed tunic by zara

floral print jumpsuit by topshop

one shoulder pattern dress by eloquii

scattered heartsease blouse by leifsdottir
nina jacket by creatures of comfort

wide leg floral print pant by alice + olivia

black vintage one-piece by miss selfridge

Floral prints are a must for this Summer...the bigger the better!  Sometimes floral prints can be a bit matronly, but if you stick to an updated silhouette you will be less matron and more chic.  Mix prints by pairing a floral skirt or pant with a striped top like this or keep it safe with a solid.  I'm looking for the perfect pair! My mom has some wide leg pants from the late 80s early 90s that I've got to get my hands on.  I did just get these on sale...loving them!

Happy first day of May!
