Love It or Leave It: The Backpack

Backpacks are BACK!! Will you be carrying one?  I never thought I would say it, but I've got my eye on a few cuties.  The backpack would be a great Mama and June bag.  From the runway to the streets, you gotta get you a BackBag.  Ha!  I like the sound of that better!

Let's shop. . .

Want...

In love with this leather pocket sweater cutie from J. Crew.  It's seems to have sold out in this color, but this color is available now.   Great for Fall, adds a little edge to your look, might just become a classic, and comfy comfy comfy.  Some others that you might like... Asos, Thakoon, Target, Club monaco and Raoul! Also, check out these cute comfy knits for Fall.

Simple Things...

a simple sandal

a simple make-up bag

a simple set of notecards

a simple pair of studs

I really enjoyed doing this post.  Sometimes I get so caught up in all the details of a post and it all gets so complicated, then my brain shuts off.  My head has been so buried in my computer lately that I needed to do something simple.  The simple things always make you feel good.

keep it simple!

Doing It Myself (DIM)...

One item that has been on my wish list for a few years now, is the Celine Trio bag.  I would love to get one in my stocking this Christmas, but I know that's not happening.  Soooo, I thought I would turn this want into a Do-It-Myself project.   Yes, I'm going to attempt to recreate the Celine Trio bag, of course for my use only.  No knock-offs being sold out the trunk of my car.  :) Ha!  Until I get to Paris, this will have to do!

Instant Vintage...

Another oldie but goodie showing up this week!  While on our trip to San Francisco, I was determined to go to at least one vintage shop.   Vintage shops are a must go in San Fran.  They are at the top of my list as far as cities with good vintage shopping.  This time I went to Painted Bird.  There's also one in L.A., but for some odd reason I've never gone.   That's all about to change!  I've been telling myself to get back into vintage shopping.  You find so many gems in the midst of all those full racks.

Painted Bird was small, but packed with goodies and a very charming place to shop.   Forgot to take more photos of the store, but got caught up looking through the racks.  The store is stocked with clothing for women and men, handbags, jewelry, and shoes for women.   All in all, this store has definitely become one of my favs.

Not the best photo, the sun got in my way.

My Finds..

100% Silk Floral Blouse- $17
Belt: Anthropologie
Necklace: Isabel Marant

100% Silk Brown Blouse- $14

Butter Leather Double Breasted Jacket-$27 (ding ding ding...and it's real)
I'm going to change the buttons to spice it up!

I love these lightweight silk blouses.  So easy to throw on over a cami and pair with skirts and jeans.  Leather, Florals, and the Button-down Blouse are major for Fall.  Don't want to spend full price, vintage shops are the best way to go.  Get ready for Fall vintage style!

Instant Vintage is what I love!
Do you have any fav vintage shops you want to share?

This Fall: The Chain Gang...

I'm thinking Fall is all about updated classics!  The button-down shirt, menswear, tweed blazers and skirts, oxfords, loafers,  and the list goes on.   Don't you think?  Well, lets talk handbags with a chain strap.  Major classic and to me always in style.   I love a handbag with a chain strap especially with a simple blazer and a pair of jeans.   It adds that flair and steps your look up a bit!

Here are some of my favs...

Gucci 1973 Shoulder bag

Botkier Lucy Crossbody bag

TopShop box chain leather bag

Zara Suede Citybag

Wednesday Style Steal...

Nicole Richie always looks great when she hits the red carpet or on any given day.   With her hair up and fresh make-up, she looked effortless chic. I thought she was wearing a dress, but she's wearing a sleeveless top and a high-low hem skirt (not too fond of the paisley print ) by her own collection, Winter Kate.  Loving the leather sleeve jacket and tribal print top. I adore prints, but a tribal or ethnic print...gotta have it!  I bought the aztec midi dress below from Asos Curve...can't wait to try it on.

what Nicole is wearing...

combo blazer by Helmut Lang (blk unavailable)
kala Skirt by Winter Kate
blue suede pump by Christian Louboutin (could not find)
Kanti sleeveless top unavailable
