Bohemian Rhapsody. . .

Diane von Furstenberg as usual, put on an awesome runway show this past Sunday.  Celebrating 40 years of The Wrap dress, she put on a runway party.  Full of bold prints, vibrant color, ultra feminine silhouettes,  and when you thought it was over and the lights went dim, she brought out all the girls in gold wrap dresses.  Awesome stuff!  I just love her!  Check out the show here!

Here's some of my fav looks...

This Fall: The Chain Gang...

DVF Fall 2012 Campaign

I'm thinking Fall is all about updated classics!  The button-down shirt, menswear, tweed blazers and skirts, oxfords, loafers,  and the list goes on.   Don't you think?  Well, lets talk handbags with a chain strap.  Major classic and to me always in style.   I love a handbag with a chain strap especially with a simple blazer and a pair of jeans.   It adds that flair and steps your look up a bit!

Here are some of my favs...

It was a chicken night...

Last week we had chicken, this week we're having chicken!  I know, sounds pretty boring, but this chicken is so yummy it hugs you at every bite.  I'm serious!  I never thought I'd master the art of making a really good whole chicken, but I can say I definitely have.  I use the Diane von Furstenberg's Saturday Night Chicken recipe from the CFDA's American Fashion cookbook.   It's moist all the way through and so flavorful from all the fresh herbs.   Ready to try it?

Recipe

Saturday Night Chicken (Jiggy's remix)

1 whole chicken (organic)
1/2 lemon (rub the outside of the chicken with the other half)
fresh sage leaves
2 tablespoons of sour cream ( I use greek yogurt)
2 tablespoons of mustard of your choice (I use garlic mustard)
potatoes (used sweet potatoes)
fresh rosemary ( used fresh thyme, but I like it much better with rosemary)
olive oil
I added a half of onion and 4 cloves of garlic.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Wash, dry and salt the chicken and put in a Pyrex baking dish. Squeeze the juice of the ½ lemon inside the chicken cavity. Add sage leaves (the more the better), sour cream, and mustard inside the chicken. Peel potatoes and put in baking dish. Sprinkle rosemary and olive oil on chicken and potatoes. Bake at 400 degrees for 1-½ hours. Serve it with love.

Easy, right?  Make it yours by adding veggies or special potatoes.  So many different ways you can do it, but just don't leave out the mustard mixture.  That's what makes it really moist. Also, only use fresh herbs.   Voila!

and Diane is so right!

Wednesday Style Steal: Sister Swap?

While doing my daily blog reading, I realized something really cute...well, at least to me.  I noticed that Beyonce and Solange have the same yellow suede pumps or one of them is wearing the other sister's shoes.  Check it...

In honor of Love Day coming soon, I thought I would share some of the lovely heartwear out there.  After seeing THIS J.Crew Heart Sweater on our very stylish First Lady, the sweater sold out in minutes.  I guess I didn't move fast enough and was quite bummed I did not get it.  Oh well!!! Maybe J.Crew would be so kind to release it just one more time.

Wednesday Style Steal...

Solange Knowles
Milan Fashion Week 2012

Solange in Milan

Solange always brings the style guns out! I think she has a very vintage-eclectic with a POP style, and I never get tired of seeing what she's wearing.  She spends a lot of time in Europe, and in these photos she's in Milan viewing the Dolce & Gabbana show for Menswear Fall 2012 fashion week and soiree. Doesn't she look absolutely darling in these lace sheath dresses? My fav is the embellished black lace dress paired with the red Prada button mary janes, but the minty color peekaboo lace number is SPICY! Feeling her look? Here are some lace cuties that caught my eye and a little more friendly to the pockets. Great for a night out!
