Festive...

Feeling festive about the Thanksgiving holiday!  Tulips are definitely not a Fall flower, but the gorgeous orange and yellow colors made it so fitting for the season.  They also brightened up our kitchen!  Just want them to open up.  :)

This is a very slow week for me as far as posting.  Just keeping it simple!  Come back tomorrow to see what I'm whipping up for Turkey Day!

Enjoy the short week!

paper on the wall...

I'm back on my decorating horse.  I have this large wall in the bathroom (see below) that has nothing on it.  I have gone back and forth with whether I should put a mirror or some sort of art there.  Then, I've been playing around with printed wallpaper just on that one wall.  There are so many super cute prints and textured paper out there.  A couple weeks ago I got this email titled "Wild about Wallpaper" from Apartment Therapy.  If you haven't gone on this site, you need to!   You want to renovate, redecorate, or just add a little spice to your home, they have great ideas!   Well, I took this email as a sign that I needed to really explore this further and get me some samples.

The wall...

Here are some of the papers that caught my eye...

C'est Magnifique
So fitting, but not so sure the husband would approve. Do you?

Woods
I feel like this would add some color as well as a feel of nature.  Might be really soothing.

Paintable? Wow!  This is great!  Wallpaper sure has evolved.

Texture and Printed Wallpaper by Schumacher
Think I'm leaning towards these samples.  I do want a textured paper that feels and looks like there is fabric on the wall.  I really like the green and gold.  Adds that color and richness without overpowering the rest of the bathroom, and it's husband approved!

What do you think?

Bed Haven...

Over the weekend I decided to finally get some new bedding.  I've had the same duvet cover since 2000.  Don't you think it's time?  I have this vision of vintage linen, washed cotton, and natural fibers in creams, taupes, and whites.  A fresh and airy feel!  Would work so well with my dark brown wood sleigh bed.   So, my mom and I headed to Matteo's warehouse sale (60-70% off) downtown,  and I came home with a vintage linen duvet cover and shams.   We also stopped at Tuesday Morning, where I found a new mattress pad and pillows.  Love it!  A new mattress is next!  My vision is still a work in progress, but I'm a bit closer to my ultimate bed haven.

My inspiration...

Can't wait to share when I get it all together. Next project is my living room...

Is there a room in your home that needs a little facelift?
