Tuesday Baby Update. . .

40 weeks today!!!!  I can't believe it!  She's due today!  I'm at the finish line, but she's not here yet!  I had a feeling she would grace us with a late arrival, but you never can be sure.  The day is still young!  I'm really anxious now...waiting to see her face for the first time.  Her room is ready besides a few things that need to be added and organized (need a rug), her clothes are all washed and folded, carseat is in the car, and my hospital bag is packed.  It's time. . .let's go little girl!  Enjoy the peek into her special little room.

Pray for a uneventful labor and delivery and a beautiful healthy baby girl.  I can't wait to introduce her to you!

Stay tuned. . .

Tuesday Baby Update. . .

pregnancy photos by Sir Harrison Photography

I'm 36 weeks today, 9 months!!!!  Wow!!!!  We have 28 more days until she arrives.  Getting a bit nervous and anxious, but trying to stay calm and not stress.  Don't need her to come early!

I know I've been really slacking on posting, but it's either I draw a blank on what to post about or I'm just dead tired.  My body is going through so much right now, sometimes I cannot even focus.  With the baby showers simmering down, we can really just be quiet these last weeks.  Enjoy our time together, go see a couple of movies, visit with friends, and just relax before our new chapter begins.

So, what's been going on since my last baby update?  Well, I had my last two baby showers which were both Fabulous!  Paris themed with all the trimmings (see photos here).  My girls and my mom's friends did an awesome job!!!  Marlin and I took our pregnancy photos at the beach and completed all our projects for the nursery. Check out the Before & After photos here.  Now, all we need to do is clean and organize which shouldn't be too bad.  Oh, and we celebrated the husband's birthday last week with dinner at Fig &Olive.

Cravings. . .nothing new!  Now, I just want cold cold beverages a lot preferably lemonade, Capri Sun, or pineapple ginger juice from my fav Jamaican spot.   I've had Navy Bean and Kale soup on my mind for a couple of months now, so will try this recipe this week.  Should be really tasty!  Been on a sweet kick which I'm really trying to keep under control.  Sugar is not your friend, makes me so sleepy after I eat it.

Here are some recent photos. . .

Tuesday Baby Update...

30 wks 6 days

32 weeks (8 months) today!!!  I have lots of updates!!! I had my first baby shower last Sunday giving by Marlin's Mom, Aunt, and Sister-in-law.  It was surely a girlie affair with pink and green decoration and lots of fun games.  Very grateful and look forward to the next shower which is next week.  All my girls from the East Coast are coming in town...can't wait!  It's truly a celebration for this special little girl we have yet to meet.  Feeling very blessed!

Here's a few photos from the shower...

Besides the baby shower fun, the husband and I have been making great progress on Project Nursery. The crib was delivered and Marlin spray painted it gold.  Yes...gold!  All we need to do is put it together and we are done with that.  I also found the bedding that I want at a sample sale over the weekend.  So, that is done too!!!  I finally started on my wall art project.  I got some paper letters to spell the popular french saying "joie de vivre" (joy of life) from Land & Nod to decorate using paint, glitter, recycled paper flowers, and yarn.  I have 4 more letters to go and I'll be done with that too.  Check out the photos below, turned out really beautiful.  What I like about this crib is it's really safe, affordable, and converts to a toddler bed or a day bed.  Score for us!

Tonight we have our last birthing class.  We have truly enjoyed this class and look forward to the birth day.  We had a tour of the hospital and it looks like we will be in great hands.  No worries there! Still a bit anxious about going into labor, but preparing myself mentally each day to not be fearful.  I'm feeling good, but had two nosebleeds yesterday and the aches and pains took me for a spin.  Hoping today will be better!  Looking forward to seeing my Dr. today!  I always get so excited to go to hear the baby's heartbeat and ask a lot of questions. :)

Cravings...pretty much the same.  Really enjoying spoonfuls of frozen Cool Whip.  Ohhhh gosh, it's so tasty.  You have to try it!  Still not eating meat.  If I do, it's very little.  I do enjoy baked salmon which I cooked Sunday night with cole slaw and baked potato. Yummy yummy!  This week, I'm going to try to make navy bean soup without the ham.  I had a really good one here and wanted some ever since.  Post the recipe after I make it!

Think that is it for this week or I'm drawing a blank.  :)

Tuesday Baby Update...

jiggyloves @ 29wks 5days
Tee: William Okpo
Pants: H&M

Spring is here and I'm 30 weeks today!!!! Woohoo...I'm in my thirties!!!  Ten more weeks to go!  So, last week we went to our first birthing class at Cedars. We were late, but they were pretty easy on us.  I did interrupt the class by apologizing, and at the end of class she made an announcement that there is no need to apologize, just come in and join us...Ok, we got it!  We'll be on-time tonight! :)   The class is very intimate, only 5 couples and lots of great information...we even have homework! We met a sweet couple that will deliver around the same time as us and guess what? We have the same doctor!  Yep!  I immediately got this feeling that we will go into labor at the same time.  Hmmm...that would be very interesting.

Nursery update...over the weekend we made some major progress in the nursery.  Moved some furniture around and purged our closets.  More purging to do, but glad we got rolling.  My mom and I also tackled a little reupholstering project.  Found some beautiful fabric at Michael Levine downtown for my gently used glider so graciously given to me by one of my mom 's besties.  Should get that covered this week.  I can't wait to share when all is complete.  Exciting stuff happening over here!! :)

Cravings are pretty much the same, but I picked up a couple more...Mango frozen yogurt from Yogurtland. Have you had it?   My taste buds are jumping just thinking about it.  I'm also trying something new that I had at my friends baby shower over the weekend...honey yogurt with granola and berries like a yogurt parfait.  So yummy!  I see a theme here with yogurt, baby must need more protein.  Also, yesterday I noticed my appetite increased a lot.  I ate all day yesterday!  Here comes that weight I've been wondering about.  Uhh ohh!!!

In the never ending "what do I wear, and still be fashion-forward" saga, I finally found some maternity pants at Target for work (pretty cute) and love these cuties from H&M.  Got them in 3 colors.  I don't have to buy anymore pants for the rest of my pregnancy.  Just perfect!

I think that's it for this week!

Tune in next week for more baby updates...

Tuesday Baby Update...

the box of goodness!

I'm 29 weeks today!  It's been pretty quiet since we got back from our trip.  Have been dragging my feet on some important to-do list stuff.   I did get on the horse and set up two pediatrician prenatal appointments before our sweet girl arrives.  I owe it all to my dear friend and Blah Blah Bird sister, Toni  for motivating me to get on it!  I feel a bit of weight lifted off of me...don't need any extra weight these days. Ha!  We finally found the perfect home for my beloved couch that was taking up major room in the nursery.  Moved and the owner is content!  We also are re-purposing some of our furniture in the house to put in the nursery.  Save a little cash on pricey baby furniture.  We are transforming my armoire that's not being used to it's full potential into this (click on link)...excited to see how it turns out.  I'll keep you posted on this project and maybe have photos of the before and after.

Cravings are the same!  Honey Bunches of Oats are the business and I'm all over it! The husband picked up a new box for me over the weekend.  Score! You would have thought he brought flowers home, I was so excited!  I do love my green mint iced tea with agave nectar from Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Starbucks, or Wholefoods Market,  but I try to minimize that to once a week.  It's so satisfying to me.  The cold ice and the subtle sweetness to enhance the mint flavor.  Try it!

The bump is growing bigger and bigger, but still pushing myself into my old pants.  Might have a week or two left before I gotta hang them up.  Thought I could make it to the end!  lol!!!  Still working my own pre-pregnancy wardrobe.  Finding new things in my closet everyday that work well for the belly. I should be fine with tops and dresses.  Just have to break down and buy some maternity pants.  Can't wear these jean leggings to work everyday!  I did get myself in a bit of trouble at my fav store Anthropologie.  Picked up the cutest jumpsuit that fits me and the bump really well, but I'm not sharing the link.  Don't need you guys in my business too much, judging me and stuff. lol!!!

Well, that's all for this week!  I hope to have some photos next week of some of our projects and maybe ultrasound photos.   Oh!  We have our first birthing class and tour of the hospital this evening.  Should be exciting! Can't forget to bring two pillows!!!! :)

Back here next week for more updates...

Tuesday Baby Update...

I'm 28 weeks (7 months) today!!!!   We have 2 months 3 weeks to go and she will be here.  God is so good...no, he is Awesome!!!  So, last week you know we were on our baby moon in N. Cali which was fantastic and so relaxing.   Hard to come back, but excited to get back to continue the preparation for our little girl.  The photo above shows how I  had to sleep while on the trip.  Lol!! I had to construct a replica of my Leachco Back/Belly pillow that I have at home using 5 pillows.  Pretty complex, but it worked!  The husband is a trooper, because he only has a sliver of bed to sleep on.  Sometimes I catch him all snuggled up against the pillows...so sweet!   Most importantly, I sleep comfortably and it helps ease the round ligament and back pain, but I still don't sleep through the night.  :(

Now that we are back from our trip, we have been discussing our long to-do list.  We did scratch a major one off our list and that is finding a Doula.  We found her and she's  awesome.  We start our birthing sessions with her this week and our hospital tour and sessions start next week.  We also booked our pregnancy photo shoot.  We are creeping down the list, but it will all get done.  Trying to get most of the physical things off the list in the next couple of weeks as my energy and me are slowing down.  Wish me luck!

Cravings... plain croissants, oranges, and berries are still in heavy heavy rotation.  I just might deliver an orange for a baby. lol!!!  Still have an egg every morning.  Yesterday, I sent the husband to get me a box of Honey Bunches of Oats (HBO) and a carton of Half and Half which I mixed with almond milk.  Never in my life have I wanted HBO cereal, but saw a commercial and they looked so yummy.  Had to have it!  The crunch and a bit of the sweet honey in each bite is just everything to me!!!   Another new addition is fresh lemonade.  If it's not fresh, forget about it!   I also think and dream about mashed potatoes.  Made some on Sunday with baked salmon and sautéed cabbage and kale...very cozy!

So, like I said before I'm still on the hunt for cute, chic, and bump friendly clothes.  On our trip, I bought this sweater from my fav store Anthropologie.  To my surprise, they have so many bump friendly options.  The price isn't  always right, but at least I can wear after the baby comes.  So, I found this cozy cardigan (below) while in Carmel.  Didn't buy it, but I'll probably get it this weekend.  It wraps around my bump so sweet, with room to grow.  I have a store credit that is burning a hole in my pocket, and I'm using it on this cardigan.

Pleidas Cardigan

That's all for this week...next week I should have another ultrasound, so I hope to have a cute photo to share.

Tuesday Baby Update...

26 weeks
Monterey, Ca (March 2014)

27 Weeks today...third trimester is around the corner!  I'm feeling great!  The husband and I are officially on our baby moon!  In Carmel, Ca today and headed further North to Tiburon then home.  We decided to take Highway 1 all the way.  What an adventure!  The hubby drove the entire way while I admired the beautiful scenery, ate, and then dozed off, then ate again and dozed off.  Ha!  The life of a pregnant lady.  He packed some great snacks for us. . . lots of oranges, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, egg sandwich, cookies, tortilla chips, and water.  That's all I had until we made it to our hotel.  Oh, we did stop at Starbucks for hot cocoa and croissants.  How did I forget those yummy warm croissants.

Bixby Bridge-Big Sur, Ca
(March 2014)

So, we have had a very relaxing trip so far and the hotel is cozy and quaint with the best service. Very European!  The views are breathtaking...just makes me love California that much more.  Yesterday we went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium which was really fun (loved the Sea Lions).  Even picked up our little girl a little souvenir onesie with a penguin on the front.  After that, we walked Cannery Row, and I picked up some yummy tangerine yogurt from Pinkberry.  Then we drove the scenic 17-Mile Drive which was beautiful, and the homes were amazing.  We ended the day with an awesome meal at this Mediterranean restaurant in Carmel Village called Dametra Cafe. We both ordered fish, then baklava and Moroccan mint tea for dessert.  Great first day!

Today, we plan on walking/shopping Carmel Village and hopefully have a picnic by the beach.  Then we head to San Francisco/Tiburon tomorrow.  So, after today no more blog posts.  I'm going to enjoy the rest of my trip.  Fill you in next week!

Cravings this week...still on the oranges and berries.  Pasta is still a number one choice.  I wanted some mashed potatoes really bad yesterday, maybe get those today.  Chocolate, had a dream last night about standing in a long line for some See's candy, but got to the front of the line and the lady told me she had to ship it to me...What?!? Then ran to a place that sold chocolate covered orange peels...then I woke up.  Best believe we stopped here, and I got a few tasty things.  ;)

That's all until next week...

Stay tuned for more Tuesday Baby Updates

Tuesday Baby Update...

selfie at the office-25 weeks

26 weeks today!!!  Next week will be the start of my last and final trimester.  Woohooo!!!  I cannot believe it!  Baby Girl Archie will be here before we know it!  Can't wait to see her face.  The husband dreamed about her for the second time this month, but she does not reveal her face.  She was covering her face except for her lips which looked like mine.  So interesting!  I guess we're both anxious to meet her.

I've been feeling good, but got a nagging headache over the weekend.  Not sleeping very well (mind is racing), still have the round ligament pain, and started having this cramp in my right foot.  I'm just taking it all and dealing with it!  All worth it and nothing I can't handle.  My Glucose test was negative, no Gestational Diabetes.  I do have a mild case of Anemia which I figured I would have since I was born with it.  So, now on one iron pill a day as well as my prenatals and calcium magnesium and fish oil before bed.

Cravings last week...croissants (plain), lots of oranges cut in quarter wedges with the skin on. Love biting into each wedge, the juice is so refreshing (eating some now as I type), blackberries, blueberries, and strawberries are in heavy rotation, french vanilla ice cream from Trader Joes, and pasta of any kind, cold or hot.  I do need to eat more protein.  Meat/poultry just doesn't do it for me anymore, but I have to get it in.

I purchased this cutie yesterday!  Had a $50 gift card to Anthroplogie burning a hole in my pocket, but wanted to use it on something that I really wanted.  This Tracey Reese tunic dress has more than enough room to accommodate the growing belly.  Can't wait to wear while on our Babymoon with leggings or my new skinny maternity jeans.

That's my update for this week!  Oh, Baby Girl Archie is kicking, punching, and rolling.  Marlin finally got to see my stomach jump.  He was so excited! Keep us in positive thought always!

Come back next week for more updates. . .
