New York Fashion Week is in full swing and what I have seen so far via live stream is fabulous for Spring 2011. There are many collections I am waiting to see and one in particular is Sophie Theallet. I read an article in the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) about how designers are using brighter hues and rich colors to lighten up the runway for Spring 2011. In this article, Sophie Theallet was highlighted.

Sophie Theallet and one of her dresses from Spring 2010 |
I first heard of Sophie Theallet when First Lady Michelle Obama wore one of her dresses here to a ceremony celebrating the memorial bust of Sojourner Truth back in 2009. Also, when she debuted a collection for The Gap in June 2010. She is a french born designer from the South of France. Her signature is "bohemian luxe seen through the eyes of a sophisticated couturier."

Her pieces are so feminine and fresh suited for many shapes and sizes. Her very pricey ready-to-wear (RTW) pieces can be found in Barneys New York and in department stores in Paris and London. If you want the Sophie Theallet look on a budget, check out Anthropolgie or Zara.
Here are some photos of her Spring 2010 collection...
Lovely!!!!
And I'm off and running...
